Terms of Service

Effective date:   9/23/26

These Terms of Service govern your use of the services provided by RD Matthews Electrical Contracting LLC (“RD Matthews Electrical,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By requesting or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services

RD Matthews Electrical provides electrical contracting, repair, installation, inspection, maintenance, and related services as described in an estimate, proposal, work order, or written agreement.

The exact scope of work, materials, schedule, and price will be stated in the applicable estimate or service agreement. Work outside that scope may require additional approval and charges.

2. Estimates and Pricing

Estimates are based on the information available when prepared and may change if concealed conditions, code requirements, material changes, customer-requested changes, or additional work are discovered.

We will communicate material changes when reasonably practical. Additional work may require your approval before it begins, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect people or property.

3. Scheduling and Access

Customers must provide reasonable access to the property and the areas where work will be performed. Customers are responsible for identifying known hazards, access restrictions, parking requirements, pets, and other conditions that may affect the work.

Appointments may need to be rescheduled because of emergencies, severe weather, unavailable materials, unsafe conditions, permitting issues, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

4. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

Provide accurate project information.

Obtain any permissions required from the property owner, landlord, association, or other authorized party.

Make the work area reasonably accessible and safe.

Avoid interfering with work performed by our personnel or contractors.

Review and approve applicable estimates, proposals, or change orders.

Provide accurate contact information for scheduling and service communications.

5. Permits, Inspections, and Code Requirements

When applicable, permits and inspections may be required. Responsibility for obtaining permits, coordinating inspections, and paying related fees will be identified in the applicable estimate or service agreement.

Work will be performed in accordance with applicable requirements known to us at the time of service. Existing conditions or prior work may require correction before new work can proceed.

6. Payments

Payment terms will be stated in the applicable estimate, proposal, invoice, or service agreement. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due according to the terms shown on the invoice.

You agree to pay approved charges for labor, materials, permits, inspections, taxes, and authorized additional work. Late or unpaid balances may be subject to lawful collection remedies and applicable fees.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Please provide notice as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Any cancellation, trip, diagnostic, restocking, or other applicable charge will be disclosed in the estimate, service agreement, or scheduling confirmation when applicable.

8. Materials and Equipment

Material availability, pricing, and delivery times may change. If a selected material is unavailable, we may propose a comparable alternative for your approval.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, removed materials and equipment may be disposed of or retained by RD Matthews Electrical.

9. Limited Warranty

Any workmanship or manufacturer warranties will be described in the applicable estimate, invoice, or service agreement. Manufacturer warranties are subject to the manufacturer’s terms and conditions.

Warranties may not apply to damage caused by misuse, unauthorized modification, improper maintenance, third-party work, normal wear, pre-existing conditions, code changes, or circumstances outside our control.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, RD Matthews Electrical will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the services.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or waives rights that cannot legally be waived.
